Emilio Puente – Iowa City Police Department

In November 2021, Officer Emilio Puente was involved in an arrest where he used force to subdue a resistant suspect. A bystander video led to an internal investigation, and in February 2022, Puente resigned in lieu of termination for misconduct related to this incident. He later filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination and wrongful termination, which was dismissed in April 2024.
