In December 2022, Deputy Erin Williams was suspended for 40 hours, placed on disciplinary probation, and removed from the Special Investigations Division, the SWAT team, and the US Marshals Task Force for improperly handling drug evidence by keeping it at his desk instead of submitting it to evidentiary storage. Further investigation revealed that Williams allegedly lied under oath about the status of a confidential informant and falsified information on a search warrant, leading to the dismissal of multiple drug trafficking cases. As of October 2023, Williams was on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
