Ferron Wambold – Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department

In 2018, former Corporal Ferron Wambold filed a gender discrimination complaint against the Lamoille County Sheriff’s Department after being terminated. She alleged a pervasive pattern of nepotism and gender discrimination within the department, describing it as a ‘good-old boy sheriff’s department.’ Wambold claimed that her termination was in retaliation for attempting to file a gender discrimination grievance, which the department refused to process. She also highlighted instances of male deputies engaging in fraudulent violations of public trust, including cover-ups and racial and sexual orientation violations. The department denied these allegations, stating that the claims were false and without merit.
