Create And Track Police Department History
In September 2021, Sgt. Eric Huxley was captured on body camera footage kicking a handcuffed man, Jermaine Vaughn, in the face during an arrest at Monument Circle. Huxley pleaded guilty to federal charges of deprivation of rights under color of law and was sentenced in September 2023 to one year and one day in federal prison, followed by two years of supervised release. Vaughn has filed a civil lawsuit against Huxley and the city, seeking unspecified damages.
