On January 30, 2020, while on duty as a Dallas County deputy sheriff, Joshua Davidson placed a woman in custody and drove her to a desolate location where he forced her to perform oral sex against her will. The victim reported the assault immediately, fearing that Davidson would shoot her if she did not cooperate. Davidson was arrested in July 2020, pleaded guilty in May 2023, and was sentenced to 12 and a half years in prison on August 25, 2023.
