In December 2022, former Border Patrol agent Ramon Antonio Monreal Rodriguez was sentenced to 152 months in prison for purchasing firearms for felons and conspiring with Mexican drug traffickers to smuggle narcotics past Border Patrol checkpoints, often using his official vehicle. He admitted to distributing 116 kilograms of cocaine and 107 kilograms of marijuana as part of the conspiracy. Additionally, Monreal attempted to arrange the assault of a federal corrections officer and sought to have his ex-girlfriend ‘disappear.’ The case was investigated by the Southern Arizona Corruption Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
