In 2016, a trail worker at Grand Canyon National Park’s North Rim was reported for creating a hostile work environment by making physical threats, homophobic comments, and bullying. An investigation concluded that the worker’s behavior was inappropriate and unwelcome, leading to a hostile work environment. Supervisors failed to take corrective action, and some employees quit or were moved as a result. The trail worker has since left the park.
