In 2013, Officer Dyer was involved in an incident where she identified a driver who had fled from police. She later recanted, admitting she couldn’t positively identify the suspect. An internal investigation led to her termination in 2014 for violations including untruthfulness and falsification of records. The Yuma County Attorney’s Office placed her on the ‘Brady List.’ Dyer appealed her termination, but the Arizona Court of Appeals upheld the city’s decision in 2016.
