On April 27, 2009, Officer Rope was involved in the supervision of an inmate who displayed signs of acute methamphetamine intoxication. Despite the inmate’s deteriorating condition, there was a delay in seeking medical assistance. The inmate was eventually transported to the hospital but was pronounced dead on April 28, 2009. A lawsuit was filed alleging that the officers’ negligence and delayed response contributed to the inmate’s death.
