Probationary Tucson Police Department officer Michael Sauber was fired in August 2021 after being accused of pointing a handgun at his father during a family gathering while off duty. Although arrested, the Pima County Attorney’s Office declined to file charges. Sauber was terminated for failing to meet and maintain standards due to his involvement in an incident leading to a felony arrest.
