KeymasterIn 2018, Trooper Aguila-Muniz was investigated for accessing a law enforcement database for non-official purposes, claiming hours he did not work, misusing his DPS-assigned fuel card to refuel his personal vehicle, and using his state-owned patrol vehicle for personal purposes. In July 2019, he was indicted on 27 counts of forgery, 8 counts of unauthorized access of a confidential law enforcement database, and 1 count of a custodial money violation. He pleaded guilty to two felony counts of attempted forgery and was sentenced in November 2020 to two years of supervised probation and ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution to DPS. His peace officer certification was revoked by the Arizona Peace Officer Standards and Training Board in January 2021.
