Create And Track Police Department History
On October 22, 2018, at approximately 8:00 a.m., an unknown U.S. Marshal allegedly physically assaulted prisoner Scott Lewis Hashemian during transport from Anchorage Correctional Complex East. The marshal reportedly handcuffed Hashemian, placed him in leg irons, and conducted a search involving physical groping of his groin, genitals, and buttocks with jabbing motions. Hashemian claimed this caused physical and mental pain, including sharp pain in his genitals and fear of U.S. Marshals. He filed a lawsuit alleging violation of his Fourth Amendment rights. The case was dismissed without prejudice for failure to state a claim on which relief may be granted. [Source: Hashemian v. U.S. Marshals, Case No. 3:18-cv-00286-TMB, Dec 11, 2019]
