Officer Aaron Dalton was involved in multiple incidents of misconduct. In 2011, he was accused of racial profiling during a traffic stop involving Justin Byrd, leading to a lawsuit that was settled in 2013. In 2013, Dalton resigned from the Fairmont Police Department due to ‘personal differences’ with the police chief. He was later hired by the Westover Police Department, where he faced further allegations, including a 2019 incident involving the beating of Andre Howton, resulting in a federal lawsuit.
