In October 2019, former officer Adam Raynor filed a lawsuit against the city of Florence, alleging wrongful termination. The suit stemmed from a 2016 incident where Raynor arrested a suspect with an outstanding warrant. Raynor claimed he used a taser to subdue the suspect, believing the individual was about to become physical. The city filed motions to dismiss the lawsuit, but as of February 2021, these motions were denied, allowing the case to proceed.
