Former Lieutenant Alex Huntley was convicted in June 2018 for violating an individual’s civil rights by assaulting a handcuffed and compliant arrestee on December 24, 2014. Huntley sprayed pepper spray in the arrestee’s face, knocked him to the ground, stomped on him, and repeatedly kicked and punched him while the arrestee screamed in pain. A police officer recruit who witnessed the beating recorded the assault on his cell phone. Huntley was sentenced to 36 months in prison and three years of supervised release in September 2018.
