Deputy Alex Jayson was sued in 2019 for allegedly using excessive force against inmate Deshaun Roberts. The incident occurred in April 2018 when Roberts requested a grievance form, leading Jayson to allegedly slam him to the ground, punch him multiple times in the face, knee him in the back, and place him in a chokehold. Following the lawsuit, Jayson was reassigned to an administrative role without inmate contact.
