In August 2017, Officer Odom conducted a traffic stop on Claraleanna Lockett. During the stop, Odom broke the driver’s side window of Lockett’s car with his bare hands. Lockett filed a lawsuit alleging excessive force, which resulted in a $20,000 settlement in 2019. Less than two years later, Odom broke another car window after a pursuit; no lawsuit was filed in that case, and officials did not fault Odom for his use of force.
