    Former Deputy Ben Arceneaux was accused of stalking and sexually assaulting multiple women while on duty. In December 2018, he was indicted on a count of malfeasance in office and subsequently resigned from the Sheriff’s Office. In July 2019, Arceneaux pleaded guilty to malfeasance in office, receiving a suspended five-year prison sentence and two years of probation. He was also ordered to undergo a sexual predator evaluation and comply with any recommended treatment.
