Former Deputy Sheriff Ben Westley Milner was convicted on September 24, 2009, of violating the civil rights of three individuals. On October 31, 2005, he physically abused a truck driver following a traffic stop. On October 18, 2007, he assaulted two inmates at the Choctaw County Jail with a large axe handle. Milner was also found guilty of falsifying official reports to cover up these incidents. He was sentenced on July 29, 2010, to 18 months in prison and two years of supervised release.
