Officer Wiebolt has been accused of stalking behavior following the end of a romantic relationship with fellow officer Carrie Sell in 2024. Allegations include watching Sell through remote access to her home security cameras, violating an internal no-contact order, following her to the gym, and making himself out to be the victim. Additionally, Wiebolt has a history of misconduct, including a 2021 DUI conviction, use of excessive force, and violating citizens’ Fourth Amendment rights. Despite these issues, he remained employed until the city began the process of terminating him in early 2025 after Sell’s legal counsel notified the city of her complaint.
