In 2014, Sheriff Blair Olsen was sued in federal court by former employee Amanda Lee, alleging sexual discrimination and retaliation after she reported Olsen’s misuse of public funds, including a secret narcotics account. The lawsuit also claimed Olsen enforced a policy requiring female employees to wear skirts weekly, leading to inappropriate comments. The lawsuit sought damages for loss of earnings and emotional distress.
