In 2014, Deputy Brandon Coker was involved in a consensual wife-swapping arrangement with fellow Deputy Michael Golden. Upon discovery, both were placed on unpaid leave and subsequently terminated for cohabiting with someone who was not their spouse. Coker and Golden filed a lawsuit against the sheriff, claiming wrongful termination and violation of their constitutional rights.
