    In June 2019, Corporal Faris was named as a defendant in a federal lawsuit alleging civil rights violations. The lawsuit, filed by Gina Scruggs, accused Faris and other officers of misconduct during her detention. The case was filed under 42 U.S.C. § 1983, indicating allegations of constitutional rights violations.
