Deputy Chief Brandon Gurley was implicated in a 2020 lawsuit alleging that he conspired with a former Dunwoody Police lieutenant to hire and quickly terminate Officer Roger Halstead, who had complained about harassment. Gurley denied the allegations, stating that the claim was ‘completely false’ and that the department would not negligently hire a known problem employee.
