On November 22, 2009, during a vehicle pursuit, Officer Mundy fired shots at a suspect’s vehicle, causing it to crash into a ditch. After the suspect was arrested without resistance by another officer, Mundy unjustifiably and repeatedly beat the suspect in the head with an object, causing physical injury. He pleaded guilty to violating the suspect’s civil rights and was sentenced on October 17, 2013, to five years in prison, three years of supervised release, and ordered to pay $3,745 in restitution.
