In 2010, Officer Brett Seekatz was recorded kicking a motorist, Adam Greene, five times in the head during a traffic stop. Greene was experiencing a diabetic episode at the time. The incident led to a lawsuit resulting in a settlement of nearly $300,000. Despite this, Seekatz was not terminated or demoted; he received a verbal reprimand and was later promoted to lieutenant.
