In March 2024, Deputy Brian Dugas was arrested and charged with four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile. Dugas, who served as a School Resource Officer since 2019, was terminated on the day of his arrest. Sheriff Tony Mancuso condemned Dugas’s actions as disgusting and an embarrassment to the department, emphasizing that such behavior would never be tolerated. Subsequent investigations led to additional charges, including malfeasance in office, third-degree rape, and possession of child pornography, with his bond set at $1.2 million.
