In February 2023, State Marshal Brian Hobart falsely attested to personally serving an eviction notice on February 23, 2023, when surveillance footage revealed it was actually served on February 25 by another individual. This misrepresentation violated multiple state agency regulations and potentially state statute 53a-157b for false attestation. The tenants were deprived of the full three-day notice period, impacting their rights and housing records. A complaint was filed with the State Marshal Commission, and disciplinary actions are pending.
