In January 2015, Deputy Wudtke secretly recorded a meeting with his supervisors using a pen-camera. Upon discovery, an investigation revealed that files had been deleted from the device, and his county-issued computer contained downloaded recordings from the meeting. Facing potential disciplinary action and concerns about his trustworthiness, Wudtke resigned from the Sheriff’s Office in March 2015.
