In March 2020, Brian Wyberg, a 35-year-old dispatcher and jailer employed for six years, was placed on administrative leave following allegations of theft, illegal possession of prescription drugs, and misconduct in public office. The Barron County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case, leading to Wyberg’s arrest and detention in the Barron County Jail. Charges were referred to the Washburn County District Attorney’s Office for further action.
