Create And Track Police Department History
Home › Forums › Florida › Tampa Police Department › Brigitte Curbelo – Tampa Police Department
In July 2021, Officer Curbelo, along with Officer Briana Yukniewicz, aggressively arrested an innocent Black woman who was concerned about her fiancé’s safety during a DUI stop. The woman was tackled to the ground and charged with resisting without violence; the charge was later dropped due to insufficient evidence. An Internal Affairs investigation found Curbelo violated four department policies, including standard of conduct and response to resistance. She received a three-day suspension, which she is appealing. Curbelo has a history of departmental violations and is named in a lawsuit alleging improper arrest during a medical emergency.
