On October 17, 2020, Officer Croft recklessly caused bodily injury to his intimate partner by slamming a door on her arm, resulting in pain and bruising. Additionally, on May 3 and May 5, 2021, he violated a court order by contacting the victim and appearing in close proximity to her. Croft pleaded guilty to domestic violence, stalking, and contempt of court, all class A misdemeanors. He was sentenced to a total of 8 months at the House of Corrections, with additional suspended sentences contingent on good behavior, completion of domestic violence counseling, and agreement to decertify as a police officer.
