In April 2014, Capt. Andre Dominick, serving as the jail’s medical director, was implicated in the death of 19-year-old inmate Nimali Henry. Henry died after being denied medical attention for a treatable condition over a 10-day period. Dominick pleaded guilty to violating Henry’s civil rights and was sentenced to five years in prison. He died in federal custody in November 2021.
