In 2012, Capt. Snyder was involved in a lawsuit where Officer Stephanie Hicks alleged pregnancy discrimination. Snyder accommodated Hicks’ pregnancy initially but later supported her transfer from the narcotics unit to patrol upon her return from maternity leave. The court found evidence suggesting the transfer was motivated by discriminatory animus related to Hicks’ pregnancy, leading to a jury trial.
