In 2009, Captain Harrison intervened to prevent a DUI charge against an arrestee by deleting police records and intercepting a mail truck to destroy documentation before it reached the Alabama Department of Public Safety. This incident led to an attorney general investigation and subsequent reprimand for Harrison. The officer involved in the original arrest, Jason Threet, was also reprimanded.
