    Deputy Carlton Shaw was terminated in December 2004 for insubordination after failing to seek medical attention as ordered following a work-related injury. Shaw filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination and wrongful termination, but the court found in favor of the Sheriff’s Office, citing documented performance issues and failure to follow directives.
