In June 2019, Officer Casey Barnum arrested Greeley resident Rose Perez on suspicion of harassment. During the arrest, Barnum placed Perez in his patrol car, where she stayed for nearly an hour as police went over the details of the arrest. An internal investigation concluded that Barnum violated agency policy during the arrest. He was subsequently re-assigned to desk duty pending the investigation and later left the department.
