In May 2018, Cameron Boozer, a supervisor in the Campus Safety and Security Department since 2008, filed a lawsuit alleging racial discrimination. Boozer claimed that his boss, acting director Chance Corbett, passed him over for a promotion in favor of a less experienced white candidate. Boozer stated he had no disciplinary actions against him and had outstanding performance evaluations. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Alabama.
