In May 2024, Deputy Chase McDaniel was named in a lawsuit by former officer Daniel Barnett, alleging that McDaniel, along with two other deputies, engaged in misconduct by fabricating evidence and withholding information. This alleged misconduct led to Barnett’s wrongful termination. The case is currently under legal review.
