    In 2015, Chief Chris Hargett demoted Officer Gentry from sergeant to patrol officer following evaluations citing leadership and professionalism concerns. After Officer Gentry’s husband, a reserve officer, criticized the demotion, Chief Hargett removed him from the reserve program and banned him from the police station. Officer Gentry filed a lawsuit alleging gender discrimination and retaliation, but the court granted summary judgment in favor of the City of Russellville.
