Ocean City Police Officer Christian Rodden is the subject of a federal lawsuit stemming from a September 2020 use-of-force incident. Rodden fired his Taser twice at 23-year-old Lucas Joaquim, who had his hands raised and posed no threat. Joaquim filed a $500,000 lawsuit in 2022 alleging excessive force and a failure to provide medical care. The case remains ongoing.
