Christopher Chandler, a former lieutenant with the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, was demoted and subsequently terminated in 2018. The demotion was due to incidents including insubordination and failure to report for duty. Chandler admitted to these offenses during a predetermination hearing. He filed a lawsuit alleging disability discrimination and retaliation, but the Eleventh Circuit Court upheld the Sheriff’s Office’s actions, finding legitimate, non-discriminatory reasons for his demotion and termination.
