Officer Christopher Guinup was a passenger in a police vehicle driven by Officer Jakob Streyle during a fatal collision on July 10, 2019. Guinup was accused of failing to intervene as Streyle drove at high speed without activating emergency lights or siren, resulting in the death of Steven Santini. A wrongful death lawsuit was filed, leading to a proposed settlement of $1.8 million in 2020.
