In September 2021, Deputy Police Chief Christopher ‘Joey’ Long resigned following his arrest in Phoenix on charges of assault and resisting arrest. He was accused of pushing and punching a man in the face and kicking a Phoenix officer in the chest while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. He resigned four days after the incident.
