Between 2018 and 2020, Officer Christopher Mason engaged in multiple instances of domestic violence and child abuse. He admitted to hitting a child with a plastic ladle, leaving a ‘baseball-sized welt,’ and dragging a minor off a couch, grabbing his neck, and kicking him. Mason pleaded guilty to cruelty to a child, simple assault, and reckless endangerment on January 19, 2023. He received a suspended sentence of one to two years and two years of probation with conditions including no alcohol, no contact with victims, and no firearms. He resigned from the Manchester Police Department in November 2020 and was permanently decertified as a police officer in February 2023.
