In November 2023, former Sergeant Christopher Meyer was involved in a use-of-force incident where he was recorded striking a suspect multiple times during an arrest. An internal affairs report indicated that the level of force used appeared to be in accordance with LCSO policy; however, it was suggested that intervention by other deputies could have prevented further injury to the suspect.
