Officer Christopher Michel was named as a defendant in a 2013 excessive force lawsuit filed by Casey Wentzel, who suffered severe injuries during an arrest. An internal investigation cleared Michel of wrongdoing. The City of Fort Wayne settled the lawsuit for $125,000.
