Deputy Cody Quantrell was involved in the fatal shooting of former U.S. Marine Dante Jones in November 2019. The incident occurred on an icy rural road, and Quantrell claimed he was at risk of serious injury or death when Jones attempted to drive off with the deputy partially inside the car. The shooting was deemed justified by the prosecutor, but Jones’ family filed a federal lawsuit alleging that Quantrell’s actions and a lack of proper training led to the death. The lawsuit also highlighted Quantrell’s history of endangering the public.

Our Mission

We're building a comprehensive database of police interactions to promote accountability and transparency in law enforcement.

  • View the Blog: Read about documented police interactions
  • Share Your Experience: Submit your own police interaction story
  • Browse the Forums: Check if your local law enforcement has been documented

Important Community Guidelines

It is strictly against our rules to:

  • Make threats of any kind
  • Share private information such as personal emails, home addresses, or phone numbers

Why This Matters

By organizing this data, we can potentially demonstrate when officers were previously aware of laws they later claim ignorance of, challenging qualified immunity defenses and promoting accountability.
