In November 2022, Corporal Arnault Canelle was involved in the incident leading to the death of inmate Scott Whitley III. Canelle discharged his Taser five times during the altercation. Previously, in January 2019, he was placed on a 24-hour paid suspension for violating use of force policies by administering excessive amounts of pepper foam to compliant inmates and failing to document the incident properly.
