On August 15, 2023, during a county-wide training, Corporal Robinson’s K9, Rolf, urinated inside a conference room. Witnesses reported that Robinson aggressively pulled Rolf’s leash, dragged him down stairs, and struck him multiple times as the dog cowered. Such actions are not in accordance with standard training protocols. Robinson was charged with striking or assaulting a police service animal, a class A misdemeanor, and placed on administrative leave. Rolf was reassigned to a new handler.
